Final Cut Pro - Avid Common questions June 25th, 2004
DVD Studio Pro PC
Is DVD Studio Pro available on the PC?
No, and I wouldn't count on it being available. If you are looking for a good DVD Authoring program for the PC, check out Adobe's Encore product, which is PC only.
final cut pro green timeline playback
What does green bar above the timeline within Final Cut Pro mean?
Within Final Cut Pro, if you see a green bar above any clips within the timeline, it means these clips will play in real-time (without having to render). Keep in mind, that even though there is a green line above the clips... everything must be rendered before you output back through the firewire cable. Only (dark green) bars will output directly through the firewire port with having to render.
"frame size" "final cut"
What is the typical frame size of video within Final Cut Pro?
For the most part, most Final Cut Pro users are working at a resolution of 720 x 480 (non square pixels) which matches the DV resolution. Final Cut Pro is resolution independent, but most users will work within the 720 x 480 frame size.
final cut movement tracking
How can you perform motion tracking within Final Cut Pro?
Currently in Final Cut Pro 4.5, there is no built in support for motion tracking, you must do it manually with the 8 point garbage matte. Hopefully this will be a feature that will eventually be implemented into Final Cut Pro.
