avid_paint_effect.gifYou can easily create your own customized transition effects using Avid's animatte feature within the Avid Media Composer software.

First, create your own custom paint effect using Avid's animatte effect that's found within the effect's palette.

This is very cool.  It means you can create an unlimited number of customized transitions by using Avid's paint / animatte tool

Click on the effect's editor button to enter into Avid's effects mode.

Next, store the effect by grabbing the effect icon with the effect's editor and dragging it into a bin.

You can now drag the animatte effect to use as as a transition within the Avid Timeline!

You can take this a step further by adding the animatte effect to the Quick Transition pull-down menu within Avid's Quick Transition pop-up menu.
