Class Summary: This class is designed to give students a better understanding of Photoshop. Our Photoshop for Web class will get those that need to start creating graphics for the Internet up and running quickly. You'll learn about about Compositing, Layer Masks, Quick Masks, Alpha Channels, Paths and many other valuable topics related to Photoshop. Your instructor will get you familiar with the Photoshop interface while give you hands-on training on how to use the tools and navigate around the interface. Photoshop is one of the best tools for graphics compositing and you'll learn why in this class. The training is available in-class in Orlando or On-line to meet your needs.

Class Overview
1. Interface Overview
Your instructor will show you the different features of the interface to get you familiar with the application. This part of the class will cover the History palette, Toolbox, Layer palette, Color palette, Navigator palette, Channels palette, Paths palette and other items within the Photoshop interface.
2. Creating Multi-layered Photoshop images
This portion of the class will teach you how to set-up your project and create layers. You will learn proper layer order for compositing your mulit-layered images. Learn tips and tricks for using the Layers palette. The instructor will teach you how to select transparency, change opacity, re-order, and turn on/off layers. This section of the training is designed to help you master working with layers
3. Using Layer Masks, Quick Masks and Alpha Channels
In this training module you will learn the various options for creating transparency in your images. You'll learn the differences between Alpha Channels, Layer Masks and Quick Masks and which one to use for your graphics projects. Your instructor will show you how each of these items works and how to use them to enhance the quality of your composited images.
4. Recording Actions (Macros) for saving work processes
It's always great to create workflows to make your life easier and using Actions helps you to do that. You'll be taught the process of creating graphic designs and how to save the steps your performing with Actions (Macros). This will benefit you as you use similar tasks for future projects. Learn how to save, recall and move your Actions to workstations for others to use.
5. Overview of image formats to use for the Web
One of the most important items of the Photoshop for Web class is how to convert your .PSD images to other formats for the web. You'll not only learn the process but you'll learn which formats work best. The instructor will show you how to set-up your project and what resolutions to use for the Internet.
6. Cutting out images and creating Paths
Many times when creating graphics you need to cut out a person, a building, a car, a house or some other element in an image to replace the background with something else. Learn how to save the selection used in your cut-out to a Path for later recall and use. This will save you from having to re-create the cut-out again and may benefit you in future projects
7. Applying Effects and Filters to Type
Type is one of the key ingredients to making a great design. You learn how to create Type and how to add various Effects to it. This part of the training will teach you the many options available for adding Effects and Filters to Type for your design. Learn how to add Drop Shadows, Blurs, Strokes, Glows and other Effects.
8. Applying Filters and Effects to enhance Composited images
One of the most important elements of creating graphics in Photoshop is knowing how to apply Filters and Effects. This part of the class will help teach you how to bring your graphic projects to life. Learn how to apply the many Filters and Effects that Photoshop has to offer.
