Compressing Videos for the Video iPod and iTunes

Apple has created a way to add videos to your Video iPod and iTunes. If you have a video that can be opened in Quicktime Pro, iTunes or Final Cut Pro, you can easily convert your videos for your iPod and iTunes. You will need to be using QuickTime 7.0.3 and at least iTunes 4.8 but for the best experience and features with video in iTunes download and install iTunes 6.

Here's how to compress your videos:

1. Open your video in Quicktime Pro.

2. Chose Export

3. In the Export settings choose Movie to iPod (320 x 240)

4. Choose the location to save you video and select Save

Once your video is complete you can open iTunes and add the video to one of your Libraries and it will automatically be moved to the Video section. Lastly, you will need to sync your iPod with iTunes to get the video to your iPod. Apple's website has additional information about Synching your iPod with iTunes.
