Once again Avid has proven to be the workhorse of the movie industry! Director Robert Zemeckis (Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Forrest Gump) is viewed as somewhat of a legend himself for his technological innovations in cinema. Now, the centuries-old material comes face-to-face with the latest motion-capture technology in Zemeckis’s 3D computer-generated film Beowulf. O’Driscoll spent two-and-a-half years on the project, handling everything from cutting pre-visualization sequences to finalizing cuts for the IMAX 3D version, slated to release simultaneously with the film’s theatrical release. Avid editing systems aided the editing team at every stage of the project.
