It easy to perform a chroma key function using Adobe Premiere.

To start, find your green screen clip place it above some background video within the timeline.

Navigate over to the project area, and click on the effects tab.

Find the Ultra Key effect within the keying category.

Drag the Ultra Key effect onto the green screen clip that you've placed on V2.

Navigate to the source window area, and click on the effects control tab.

Click on the eye dropper for the Key Color Parameter.

Move over to the program window and click on an area of green.

Okay, so that's a good start.

I recommend temporarily changing the output of the program window to show the alpha channel.

This will make it easier to create a clean key.

What you're trying to do here is to make sure your subject is completely white, with the green screen area being completely black.

Now, there are four settings to choose from to help you get started.

In my example, I'm going to choose the aggressive setting.

Next, within the Matte Generation category, I'll adjust the pedestal parameter to 100%.

And then I'll adjust the shadow parameter a bit until I have a cleaner key.

Okay, with those simple adjustments, I've got a decent key, but you'll notice there is still some work to do.

And with that being said, there are many other adjustments you can tweak to perfect your chroma key.

Switch the output setting back to composite when you're ready to preview your key.

Then navigate back to the effects tab.

Look for the crop effect within the Transform category, and then double click on it.

Then navigate back to the effect controls tab and adjust the crop controls to remove unwanted areas.

When you're finished, navigate back to the program window, and double click in the window.

This will allow you to re-position and scale your subject.

That's it, check it out.
