Go ahead and type your title and then press the apply button when you are finished.

Drag the title into the superimpose area within the Canvas window.

This will place your title above your background video in your sequence.

Next, double click on your title within the timeline.

This loads the title back into the Viewer window.

Then adjust this tracking control so the letters are further apart from each other.

Press the insert keyframe button.

Now, move the playhead indicator forward a second or two and then adjust the tracking back to zero.

Okay check it out by pressing the spacebar to play your sequence.

For additional effect, you can right click on each of these keyframes to change them to smooth.

This will give you bezier handles that you can adjust so your effect eases in or eases out.

You can also adjust these handles to create a curve for the tracking parameter.

Now check it the difference.

Finally, you might want to add dissolve at the beginning of your title.

You can do this by right clicking at the head of your title and choosing add dissolve from the contextual menu.
