Abacast was one of the sponsors of the official webcast for the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences 2007 Emmy Awards for Technology and Engineering held opening day at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Monday, January 7, 2008.

The webcast, was a featured event of CES, and powered by TV Worldwide, www.tvworldwide.com, who utilizes the Abacast Hybrid Peer-to-Peer technology to deliver content. The online audience had the option to view the event through 548Kbps of high quality video online.

The Technology and Engineering Awards honor development and innovation in broadcast technology and recognize companies, organizations and individuals for breakthroughs in technology that have a significant effect on television engineering. The awards are given to an individual, a company, or to a scientific or technical organization for developments and/or standardization involved in engineering technologies that either represent so extensive an improvement on existing methods or are so innovative in nature that they materially have affected the transmission, recording, or reception of television.
