Abacast, Inc., a leader in real-time streaming solutions has announced the purchase of Tukati, Inc., a producer of peer-assisted on-demand delivery solutions. abacaststreamhosting.jpg "The combination of these two companies' technologies enables the first hybrid peer-to-peer solution covering the complete spectrum of real-time and on-demand distribution." said Michael King, President of Abacast.  "Bringing Tukati into the Abacast family enables content publishers to make a single vendor choice for reliable content distribution, while getting a huge leap in distribution efficiencies."
Real-time streaming has many benefits. This type of delivery is streaming that occurs from a streaming server, which is a computer or server with streaming server software installed onto it. What's nice about real-time streaming is that viewers can instantly see the streaming videos they're interested in watching without waiting for a download. Viewers can also immediately access the end of a video. If you want to deliver long form videos then real-time streaming is a great option. Even videos as long as 2 hours can be delivered as real-time streams. Another important feature of real-time streaming is that a copy of the video is not placed on the viewer's computer.
