Limelight Networks, Inc. announced that the jury found in favor of the Company in the case Level 3 Communications, LLC. v. Limelight Networks, Inc (United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Civil Action No. 2:07cv589).

The jury found that Limelight does not infringe any asserted claims of the patents at issue.

Limelight Networks, Inc. announced that the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts today issued certain rulings in the Company's ongoing case against Akamai Technologies.

Among these rulings, which were issued electronically, the Court denied Akamai's motion for a permanent injunction as premature, and denied Akamai's motions for partial summary judgment on certain Limelight Networks' defenses. Additionally, the Court denied Limelight Networks' motions for a new trial, judgment as a matter of law, and obviousness.

The Court did not announce a date for the resolution of Limelight's pending defenses.

Limelight Networks, Inc. today announced that the company will provide Live Event Services for online broadcasts of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp, the popular Japanese league baseball team, delivered by RCC Broadcasting Company.

The live online broadcasts will begin on Friday April 11 with a game between Hiroshima Toyo Carp and Chunichi Dragons. The company will broadcast 15 home games that are not planned for TV broadcast, and 10 additional games that have previously been edited for time to fit into traditional broadcast TV time slots. Plans are to also broadcast "Climax Series" and "Nippon Series" playoff games if the Hiroshima Toyo Carp advance to those tournaments. Limelight Networks, Inc.announced that the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts provided notice of certain rulings in the Akamai Technologies, Inc. et al. v. Limelight Networks litigation matter. The Court conducted a pretrial conference and ruled on certain pending pretrial motions.

Among its rulings, the Court granted Limelight's motion for summary judgment of noninfringement of U.S. Patent No. 6,553,413, thus removing that patent from the upcoming trial in this matter. The Court ruled on certain other matters, including: that certain fact issues precluded granting Limelight's motion regarding the remaining patent in the case, U.S. Patent No. 6,108,703; denying Akamai's motion on certain equitable defenses; and granting Akamai's summary judgment motion on Limelight's patent misuse defense.
