For anyone that does encoding and authoring for the web you must look into is compression with Microsoft's Expression Encoder because it is rich with features.  Expression Encoder allows you to create feature-rich web video experiences for Silverlight.  The application is exciting and fun to work with and provides various ways to deliver VC-1 encoded content.  What nice about the encoding experience is that the tool allows you to have a great deal of control over how you encode and author your content.  Users can add metadata, create thumbnails for different parts of your video and even output video that uses various Silverlight player templates for viewing your content on your website:
