Video Podcasting Provides Excellent On-line Viewing Experience

|

One of the best ways to experience on-line video content these days is by viewing a Video Podcast in the iTunes media player. Some very popular minstries, media companies and other organizations have already started delivering their media content in Video Podcasts form and I hope more take steps to join them.

Video Podcasting is proving to be a growing trend. With Video Podcasts you can watch your content via iTunes right at your desktop or you can take your Podcast on the go with you by moving your Video Podcasts onto a Video iPod. There are also other media players besides the iTunes media player in which individuals can watch view Video Podcasts.

What's also nice about delivering content as a Video Podcast is users don't have to look for the content because once they subscribe to the Video Podcast the content just shows up at their front door in iTunes or their preferred media player. Delivering video content by way of Video Podcasts also avoids any need for authoring in web browser which benefits many end users because they can avoid many technical problems and issues with viewing streaming content.

My favorite element about using the iTunes media player for viewing a Video Podcast is that you can take the video seen in iTunes and break it off so it plays outside the iTunes media player. This allows users the ability to minimize iTunes and still have a video playing in the corner of their computer screen.

However, one of the disadvantages of a Video Podcast is that it is technically downloadable streaming video which sits on a web server which is much different than real-time streaming video which is placed on a streaming server. With this being one of the main disadvantages, it probably does not bother people (myself included) who end up with a great deal of time during the day when they can afford to let video podcasts download while they are performing other tasks.
