Using External Editors In Final Cut Pro

|

While building an extensive project, it is highly unlikely that any editor will use FCP solely to complete his or her project, hence the popularity of the Studio Suite marketing by industry players such as Avid and Apple. Perhaps you built your graphics within Motion or need to tweak some of the dialogue in Soundtrack Pro. Being able to open clip's media files in other applications, while in Final Cut Pro, to make adjustmets is a very convenient way to take advantage of Final Cut Studio integration.

Opening A Clip For Editing In An External Application

1 Select a clip within the Browser or Timeline, then go to View > Clip in Editor. The clip will then open up in the designated program Set In The External Editors Tab Of The System Settings Window. You must set this before you can utilize an external editor.

2 After you have made the revisions to the file and saved it, the changes will then be updated within FCP.
