Telestream FlipFactory v5.1 with MetaFlip Now Available
Telestream, a leading global provider of multiformat media encoding and delivery solutions, announced the release of FlipFactory Version 5.1 software. FlipFactory is Telestream's flagship enterprise-class workflow automation solution that converts and transfers media and metadata files between professional formats and systems. A major new feature in V5.1 is Telestream's exclusive MetaFlip 0technology which addresses the need to transform metadata with video files for submission to cable VOD providers and content aggregators such as iTunes. Additional V5.1 features include encoding of AMR audio in 3GP files for mobile distribution, support for more MXF and HD formats, more comprehensive iPod support and further system interoperability with support for Avid Interplay.

FlipFactory MetaFlip allows users to automatically flip (transform and deliver) metadata along with video and audio files to meet the data requirements of content distribution service providers. MetaFlip also enables easy, accurate data entry and review through automatically-generated data entry forms. MetaFlip currently supports iTunes RSS requirements and CableLabs VOD workflows; support for other major providers is coming soon. MetaFlip is offered as a standard feature for new FlipFactory Mobile customers, a free upgrade for existing FlipFactory Mobile customers and as an option for all other FlipFactory models.
FlipFactory Version 5.1 adds more file format transcoding and system interoperability support. Extensive FlipFactory file format support expands to include encode/decode support for AMR audio in 3GP files for mobile distribution. HD and MXF support expands to include EVS HD MXF decode/encode, Quantel HD MXF decode, 360 Systems MXF decode, and further support for various types of Avid MXF files. The new Inverse Telecine with Cadence Correction feature improves media quality when converting from NTSC to film. Support for Avid Interplay Transfer Manager and Avid Airspeed decode expand FlipFactory's extensive system interoperability. Support for broadcast workflows expands with the FlipFactory TrafficManager Centaur monitor, enabling automated ingest of commercials from Centaur catch servers.
