QuickTime Pro and Sorenson Squeeze for Encoding to Video iPod

|

There are two tools that are widely popular for compressing videos one is QuickTime Pro from Apple and the other is Sorenson Squeeze Compression Suite from Sorenson Media. Both have hit the prime time in regards to compressing video content for the Video iPod. QuickTime Pro has an easy Movie to iPod setting available via the QuickTime Export window.

Sorenson Squeeze has two default profiles for encoding to the Video iPod. They are labeled as iPod_Hi and iPod_Lo and located in the MPEG-4 Format & Compression settings. If you use the iPod_Hi as a started point you can get top quality compression for your Video iPod with little effort. Now for those organizations and companies that need to do a few single video encodes to the Video iPod QuickTime Pro would be great for this. However, if you need to encode a large amount of videos for the Video iPod you should look at using Sorenson Squeeeze Compression Suite for its batch compression and watch folder encoding capabilities. The application is available for the Mac and PC.
