Avid Xpress Pro- Media Composer and NASCAR in HD

Once again I have found a great story about Avid equipment in use and utilizing HD.
From its modest roots as regional entertainment in the Southern U.S., NASCAR (the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing) has grown to become the second most popular televised professional sport, ranking only behind the National Football League in U.S. ratings. As NASCAR has evolved, so has the technology behind the scenes. For the past six years, senior editor Jeffrey Cline and editor Barry Bennett have cut all of NBC’s NASCAR race coverage on the road, following races across the U.S. in their 53-foot NEP Supershooters mobile production truck. Inside the truck are two Media Composer Adrenaline systems with Avid DNxcel cards for editing projects in HD. Both systems are connected to an Avid Unity MediaNetwork shared-storage solution with 5 TB of shared storage. This reliable and flexible Avid editing and shared-storage setup with the Avid DNxcel card - which utilizes the Avid DNxHD codec for easier HD media exchange and reduced storage size - is essential for creating as many as 10 pieces per week, for 20 straight weeks on the road.
