Avid and QuickTime 7.1.5 not supported

Warning! Do not download the latest versions of Quick Time 7.1.5. I did and I have had nothing but problems so far. Recently, Apple released the 7.1.5 update to their popular media player, QuickTime. Preliminary reports from Avid Tech Support indicate that some users who have already downloaded the update are experiencing problems in their Avid editing systems.
It is advised that for now, all customers do not upgrade to QuickTime 7.1.5. Once they have been able to test the 7.1.5 release, and code any required patches for it As always, turn off "Automatic Updates" for QuickTime to prevent unexpected / undesired updates from happening.
Of all of the software updates always beware of updating to the latest version of Quick Time. It normally will have issues until Avid creates a patch.
