Adobe Photoshop and Reflections

Have you ever wondered how they make those great looking reflections of either text or an image? Well, I am here to let you know that not only is it simple but it will make you look at finished graphics in a whole new light. First all you need is your text or an image, I typed out Avid and filled it with an image, also very simple to do and you can brush up on this from my early entry. Next right click the layer in the layers palette and choose duplicate. Grab the top free transform handle and drag it down underneath the top image so that it looks like a mirror image.

Now all you need to do is turn down the opacity of the lower layer until you achieve the desired results. Once you have perfected this you can continue on by adding a top gradient layer and play around with the transfer modes to achieve a fading away look. Once you complete this you have a much different eye for finished graphics in the future.
