Setting Naming Presets in Log and Transfer in Final Cut Pro

Here is a quick tutorial on naming clips in Log and Transfer in Final Cut Pro.

Within Log and Transfer there is quite a bit of flexibility in the way you name your clips. If you are not going to give each clip it’s own individual name it, then you most likely will be best served if you set up a Name Preset.  Setting up even the most basic preset will allow you change the naming convention to make the clip names not all named “Clip#1, Clip#2, etc”. You can also create custom naming presets. For example having the date added to the clips name.

If your ingest plans are to just bring in the entire volume, then giving the clips from that volume a specific name is a good idea.
