Can't Hear Audio From Computer in Final Cut Pro

fcp_icon.pngIf you can't hear your audio while working in Final Cut Pro, but can see the levels pulsating in the meter, you may want to first be sure that your volume level is up, and not muted. Otherwise it is most common that the Audio is being routed through the Firewire, or another output choice. To reset the Audio to the system you need to go to the View menu, and change the Audio Playback to Default.

If you are going out via Firewire, you will need to have the camera or deck connected to speakers. It is also possible that you will need to separate the Audio from the Video by choosing to uncheck Audio Follows Video, which is the top choice at Audio Playback.
