Locating Windows Media Streaming Server Logs
In order to generate streaming reports from a Windows Media Streaming Server you need to locate the log files on your streaming server. Once you locate and download your files from your Windows Server your can process them in a log file analysis application such as Web Trends or Sawmill Professional.

First, double-click the My Computer icon on your desktop.

First, double-click the My Computer icon on your desktop.

Open up your C: drive

Inside the C: Drive open the WINDOWS folder.
Next navigate to the system32 folder and open it.

Inside the system32 folder open up the folder labeled LogFiles.

The Default folder is the main folder where your Windows Media Streaming Server log files would be located. If this is the folder that you want to process log files from open it. If you desire to process log files from a different publishing point open the folder for that publishing point.

Once you open your desired folder copy the log files that you want to analyze and place them in another folder for downloading.
