Creating Customized YouTube Media Players

| | TrackBacks (0)
If you use YouTube for video delivery you have the option to create customized media players.  The benefit of using the Custom Media player option is you can have multiple videos available for your viewers.  Whenever you update your YouTube favorites with new videos your media player will be updated as well.  You can also have the color scheme of your media player match your website or your blog.

Here's how to create a Customized YouTube Media player.

Inside of your YouTube Account settings click the option labeled Custom Video Players under the More column.

First, you can choose a Name and Description for your Media Player.  Be descriptive because you can end up with plenty of custom media players.  Type in your Player Name and the Description for your player.

After you select the colors for your media player navigate to the Layout options to choose between the single video layout and multiple video layout.  For this tutorial you can select the multiple video layout.

Under the Content section select the videos to play in your media player.  You can choose between uploaded videos, your favorites or a playlist.  For this exercise click on My Favorites.  View this link for more details on how to add videos to your YouTube Favorites.

The Last step in this process is to create the code to embed into your Web page or Blog by clicking the Generate Code button.  Once your code displays for your Custom Media Player copy and paste it into your Web page or Blog.
