On2 Strengthens Sales Operations in Asia Pacific

On2 Technologies, Inc., a leader in video compression technologies, announces the appointment of John Fargis to Vice President, Asia Pacific Sales. Working out of Hong Kong, Fargis brings extensive experience from the VoIP and wireless industries, and following On2's recent acquisition of Hantro, will lead the unification and development of the company's business in the region.

Most recently serving as General Manager for Global IP Solutions APAC where he launched the company's Asia operation and built it to a multi-million dollar organization within 2 years; At On2, Fargis reports in to Sami Hyyrylainen, SVP Worldwide Sales, and is responsible for sales of On2's entire range of desktop and embedded video technologies throughout Asia Pacific. On2 currently has established offices and partners in China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and India.

On2's product portfolio combines desktop and mobile technologies that make the seamless convergence of web and wireless video possible. On2's proprietary video formats and Flix application solutions are used by many of the leading user generated content sites and internet video solution providers including Skype, Facebook, VideoEgg, Brightcove and Move Networks. The company's highly optimized embedded video codec designs and application solutions, sold, under the Hantro brand, power video in over 300 million handsets.
