Adding a watermark to your video in DVD Studio Pro
To protect yourself when sending work to a client that hasn't been paid for we will often put a watermark on the video to keep the client from making a copy, and then refusing payment. If you embed the watermark into the video with Final Cut Pro, you will have to reexport the video without the watermark.
WIth DVD Studio Pro you can create a subtitle that is always on screen. Technically it is still a subtitle, but for the purpose of creating a watermark it works perfectly. After creating your subtitle / watermark, you go to the inspector and click the Force Display box. This will cause the subtitle / watermark to stay on screen regardless of the viewers subtitle settings. When it is time to burn an watermarked DVD you simply delete the subtitle and burn the DVD.
