Making position adjustments with keyboard commands is a great way to make finite adjustments to clips in the Canvas. Just like making adjustments to the center position in the Motion Tab. Using one of the arrow keys with the Option key will "nudge" the highlighted clip in the direction of the arrow. By modifying the nudge function with the Command key, it will reduce the amount of the nudge to 10%. When using the nudge function you must be in Image
A great time to use the nudge function is when adjusting the position titles or graphics. Anytime you can use a keyboard command in place of mousing around the interface, you are editing efficiently. With the new tapeless cameras, and portable AVCHD cameras, it's becoming easier to produce multi-camera productions.
For you novices out there: It's VERY important that you establish a sync point for all your cameras. You can use one of the following methods:
- A time code reference (this option is limited to expensive gen-locked cameras)
- A slate or visual reference (a good trick is to use a camera flash)
- A sync sound point that all your cameras can hear.
In this tutorial, I had a manually had to sync the cameras by a point of reference in the video. This isn't necessarily easy. Hence, as you'll see in my video, I basically skip over the section of finding a sync point. With this in mind, I hope this tutorial is helpful to some.

Just like working in an internet Browser with tabs you are able to create additional tabs with the Command+T keyboard combination, and toggle between tabs with Control+Tab. You are also able to tear the tabs from the Finder to create a new Finder window. Using the Finder with tabs is so much more efficient than having a bunch of Finder windows open. I have been using Total Finder for just a few days, and I am very happy with it.
I have yet to edit a Final Cut project with the Total Finder, but I am confident that when I do that it will be very functional.
Total Finder is free until it hit's version 1.0.0. Once Total Finder hits v1.0 it will cost $15. Money well spent in my opinion.
